Two people were killed in a car crash in west Charlotte on Wednesday morning.
The crash snarled traffic on a portion of Interstate 85 for some hours.
The crash took place just after 2 a.m. on I-85 South near Billy Graham Parkway.
It involved a tractor-trailer and a car.
Two people were killed and another one was admitted to Atrium CMC with life-threatening injuries.
The crash took place when Mustang was stranded in the middle lanes of the interstate when a tractor-trailer headed southbound struck it. The tractor-trailer did not slow.
The two killed were both drivers were of their vehicles.
Southbound lanes of I-85 were closed due to the crash but were reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
