Two pedestrians were hit and killed on I-240 early Saturday morning in Memphis, Tennessee.

The crash took place around 12:19 a.m. on I-240 west of Walnut Grove when two people were trying to push a stalled vehicle down the interstate.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities haven’t been released as of yet.

Memphis Police Department (MPD) says the driver who hit them stayed on the scene and he is not facing any charges as of yet.

MPD urged drivers to move over if possible or slow down when passing stranded vehicles on the interstate. MPD also said they don’t advise people to push vehicles down the roadway as it can get dangerous.
