UK business and customer demand for new cars dropped in 2017

Demand among customers for new cars dropped 6.8 percent in Britain in 2017 and sales to company fleet buyers dropped 4.5 percent, a trade industry body stated on Friday.

Overall new car registrations for 2017 dropped 5.7 percent to 2.54 million due to confusion about the possibility of future diesel levies and restrictions and weakening business and consumer confidence following the Brexit, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) stated.
