We all know that the luxury British sports car manufacturer, McLaren, is preparing an entry level vehicle lineup which will be known as the Sport Series. Now, although the lineups have yet to make their appearance, someone has managed to secure a number of images depicting not one but two test mules of the upcoming Sport Series models from McLaren. Apparently, the British marquee is examining its upcoming entry level vehicle models somewhere in the southern part of Europe.
Well, when spotted, both the test mules were wrapped in very heavy camouflage. However, it is still possible to tell that these test mules sport LED taillights, uniquely designed dual exhaust pipes, an aggressively looking rear diffuser, muscular rear fenders and also rear doors that seem to feature quite a distinctive shape.
There is one thing that is quite interesting here. As you can see in the spy images here, the test mule that is running in front of the other one seems to feature a retractable roof. The car in front definitely features a roof that is not like the one featured on the test mule behind it. If this is true, then the one in front must be the Spider variant of the company’s upcoming Sport Series models.
For anyone who happens to be eager to see and find out for themselves just what the McLaren Sport Series models will have in store for them, they may as well make sure to pay a visit to the upcoming New York Auto Show event this year. The test mules in the spy images will reportedly bear the 570S moniker when they finally launch. If this is true, this could mean that the vehicles are going to pack a 3.8L V8 engine with twin turbochargers, delivering no less than 570 HP of power output in total.
