It’s not like everything must be unveiled at the same auto show right? It would be convenient, but since auto shows are as much about politics and revenue as they are about showing what a company can and will build we’ll give Mazda a pass on this one.
Meet the updated and upgraded Mazda2. Mazda decided to use the Toronto Auto Show to showcase its latest model rather than picking bets with The Windy City.
The 2011 Mazda2 which will go on sale in North America late summer is upgraded and while it is fighting against the likes of the Chevrolet Aevo, Ford Fiesta and Honda Fit, Mazda hopes that the updated interior will woo those who are interested in a compact ride at a low cost to jump on board. Needless to say, we’ll have to wait to prove them right or wrong, but seeing Mazda is one of Ford’s most profitable brands, we highly doubt the Mazda2 will fail as the Mazda3 has outgrown its size segment (kind of like the BMW 3 series).
