Vauxhall has recently released new details about the 2014 VXR8 GTS just ahead of its debut at Autosport International. Based on the HSV GEN-F GTS, the VXR8 GTS is considered to be a BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG competitor that has a loud and proud character that the German’s can’t match.
Trolling aside, Vauxhall has confirmed that the model will come equipped with a turbocharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine that would generate an output of 576 hp (429 kW) and 545 lb-ft (738 Nm) of torque which is an increase of 150 hp (112 kW) and 140 lb-ft (189 Nm) compared to the previous VXR8. This enables the sedan to achieve the 0-60 mph (0-100 kmph) sprint in 4.2 seconds and will be able to hit a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
The VXR8 GTS has been further equipped with an upgraded Magnetic Ride Control system and a new Brake-Torque Vectoring system that applies braking to the inside rear wheel and transfers torque to the outside rear wheel to reduce understeer during high-speed maneuvers.
The VXR8 GTS will be priced from £ 54,999 and the first deliveries are slated to occur early next year in 2014.
