Reportedly there are only 15 Veyron’s in the States. One of those $1.6 million supercars ended up in a saltwater lagoon yesterday in Galveston County, Texas.
Unnamed owner was looking at real estate in Galveston when a low-flying pelican distracted him.
Driver who was on the cell phone, got distracted, dropped the phone and the car’s front tire left the frontage road and entered a muddy patch.
1001 horsepower supercar does not drive well in the mud and even though you can hit 0-60 mph in less than three seconds, it did not make it back to the road – instead ended up in a local lake/lagoon in 3 feet of water.
No one was injured, but the car is not in good shape. Reportedly the engine kept running in water for about 15 minutes sounding like an outboard engine before it died. No idea why the owner did not shut off the engine and close the door.
Take a look at not so cheerful video below how the tow company pulls the Veyron out of water.
