More than 80 classic cars were placed on display in the recent British Car Day arranged by the Classic Car Club of Ceylon and automaker Land Rover in Sri Lankan capital, Colombo.
The show included British-originated vehicles and motorbikes created from the 1930 by automakers Aston Martin, Jaguar, Triumph, Lotus, MG, Morgan and Rolls Royce.
“A ‘classic car’ is considered an older automobile with enough historic interest to be worth and collectible preserving or restoring instead of ditching. The Vintage car Club of Ceylon is thus dedicated to offer the foundation for the conservation and remediation of the finest of these vehicles ever developed. British Automobile Day is a celebration of the ‘Golden era’ of the British vehicle market,” stated Dinesh Jayawardana, president of Classic Car Club of Ceylon.
