Volkswagen USA has recently released pricing details for the limited-run Beetle GSR.
Showcased earlier this year at Chicago Auto Show, the model comes with a starting price of 29,995 USD with the six-speed manual gearbox or 31,095 USD if you decide to go for the dual-clutch six-speed DSG. Regardless of the transmission choice made, the Beetle GSR comes fitted with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine that can generate 210 hp (156 kW) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque. The model can accelerate to 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) in 6.6 seconds and comes with an electronically governed top speed of 130 mph (210 kmph).
The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle GSR comes with features that include 19-inch Tornado alloys wrapped in 235/40 tires, R-Line front and rear bumpers, Fender sound system, panoramic sunroof, keyless access with push-start button, along with bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. Other features that come with the model include heated front seats, alloy-looking pedals, three-color ambient lightning and Bluetooth connectivity.
Since this is a special edition model, the production would be limited to 3,500 units, but the company did not specify how many of them will reach stateside.
