Volkswagen had taken wraps off the Passat Sport at the Chicago Auto Show, which was around 8th February – 17th February.
Designed to fit between the Passat SE and Passat SEL, the Sport comes equipped with features such as fog lights, a rear spoiler and 19-inch Luxor-style alloy wheels. Three different colors will be available including Candy White, Tungsten Silver and an exclusive Urano Gray.
If we talk about the interiors, the changes are limited but the model comes nicely equipped with features such as sport seats, faux carbon fiber trim and alloy pedals. Other highlights inside the cabin include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, stainless steel door plates and special floor mats.
Despite being called the “Sport,” there’s actually nothing much sporty about the turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that generates an output of just 170 hp (126 kW) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque which is not really a very great output if we compare to the typical sports car.
The Passat Sport is expected to go on sale soon and pricing will kick off from $ 27,295 (including a destination and handling charge of $ 820).
