Volkswagen– Volkswagen is a German automobile manufacturer and the original and biggest-selling marque of the Volkswagen Group. It has three cars in the top 10 list of best-selling cars of all time compiled by the website 24/7 Wall St: 1. The Volkswagen Golf 2. The Volkswagen Beetle, and 3. The Volkswagen Passat.
With these three cars, Volkswagen has the most cars of any automobile manufacturer in the list that are still being manufactured. Volkswagen means “people’s car” in German. Its current slogan is Das Auto (The Car).
Off lately Vokswagen have been teasing everyone with their one of the best known concept- The Volkswagen XL1! And this time it is expected that the German Group may showcase the car at the on going Paris Motor Show, which is reportedly a rumour, But who knows they may even come up with it!
Volkswagen’s much anticipated XL1 hybrid two-seater sports car is confirmed to be on the way, Perhaps most interestingly, the board member, Professor Ulrich Hackenberg happenend to confirm the news that, XL1 – a 313mpg two-seater will go in sale in limited numbers next year.
The board member also said that a plug-in hybrid version of the next generation Mk7 Golf will also follow in 2014. As an addition, a new three-cylinder Bluemotion diesel engine will be introduced into the market, which would boast of much lower frictional losses, which significantly hepls in improving fuel economy.
An Electric Up (VW’s first production EV) will also go on sale in 2013. The Up GT has also been confirmed for production, and will arrive next year as per the sources.
Those who are looking forward to avail the Volkswagen’s Bulli Microbus (shown at Geneva last year) will be disappointed, however, because Hackenberg mentioned that due to less demand, it will not see production anytime soon. Also, the Bluesport roadster is also pending approval as Volkswagen thinks that the market isn’t healthy enough, so Hackenberg said that it’s unlikely to see production.
