Volvo has plans to showcase the Concept XC Coupe at NAIAS in Detroit, a design study which would likely preview the next generation of the XC90.
The Swedish automaker initiated a trio of design studies back in September with the gorgeous Concept Coupe shown at IAA in Frankfurt and now they are ready to unveil the Concept XC Coupe which will be introduced on January 13th at NAIAS. However the good thing is that we would not have to wait for such a long time as the company has plans to reveal full details, videos and image galleries of the coupe-fied SUV on January 8.
The vehicle serves as a preview in terms of styling for the next generation of the XC90 set to be launched in late 2014. This is not the first time when the company has teased the new XC90 as during the media presentation of the aforementioned Concept Coupe they had shown a couple of darkened pictures of what will be the first Volvo model developed under Geely ownership. The range-topping Volvo SUV will ride on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) and will be powered by a variety of engines part of the newly established Drive-E lineup.
