The all new Volvo Polestar Concept has been showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show, last week. The vehicle was developed by Volvo Cars Official Motorsports and its racing and tuning partner Polestar.
The new Volvo features an Volvo T6 inline six engine producing 508hp at 6,500rpm and 575Nm at 5,500rpm, the unit features a modified cylinder head and combustion chambers, a modified inlet manifold and air intake, special manufactured conrods, a Garret 3171 turbo and a Ferrita 3.5 inch stainless steel exhaust system. The vehicle offers its close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox which sends power to all four wheels through a fourth-generation Haldex XWD system. According to the Swedish automaker, the S60 Polestar Concept hits 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and is rumored to be bound for a limited production run.
The vehicle features an class apart aerodynamics, with a lowered front splitter and larger rear spoiler to reduce high speed lift, a carbon fiber diffuser and a body which has been widened 20mm front and rear. And the total weight is 1,640kg and it received an optimized weight distribution. The car rides on the 19″ inch rims, tires with dimensions of 265/30R19. Chases includes Reinforced anti-roll bar front and rear, Polestar-tuned EHPAS steering, Stabilizing X- members, front and rear, and Modified control-arms with uniballs front and rear.
Inside the car, it features seats designed by Polestar, for an higher level of comfort. Alcantra has been used overall, specially on the steering wheel, gear knob, and seats to ensure maximum grip.
