The Audi Prologue Avant concept car had actually made appearances before on the World Wide Web. However, there has not been any official video clip showing the vehicle in action until now. Ahead of its scheduled debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show event, the luxury German automaker has taken the liberty of releasing an official video clip so we can all now enjoy watching the car in action.
Judging by the visual styling of the vehicle, it seems to be more than likely that this latest car from Audi is going to compete head to head against the CLS Shooting Brake from Mercedes-Benz, its rival from the very same country, Germany. In order to successfully compete with the aforementioned vehicle model from Mercedes-Benz, Audi has made sure that its latest Avant is more practical than ever before.
The engine that is going to power the Audi Prologue Avant concept car is a 3.0L 6-cylinder TDI plug-in hybrid engine, paired with a lithium-ion battery and an electric motor. Thanks to what the car has under its hood, it is capable to offer its owners with 455 hp and 750 Nm of power output and torque in total. That’s enough to bring the car flying from an idle state to the speed of 100 km/h in no more than 5.1 seconds. The car also has a top speed of 250 km/h. The top speed, however, is limited electronically, so this means that the car is actually capable of reaching an even higher speed than that.
If the most recent reports are to be believed, the upcoming Audi Prologue Avant concept car will be making its world premiere on March 3, 2015, when the Geneva Motor Show event takes place this year. The car will reportedly take the stage at Geneva together with its sibling from the R8 lineup.
