It was only yesterday when the American automaker, Ford, revealed its all-new Focus RS with the AWD drivetrain. Yet, it does not take long for such a professional drifter as Ken Block to take the car out for a spin. As a matter of fact, the European division of Ford has officially shared a video clip in which a fine example of the company’s new Focus RS goes in action with the aforementioned drifter.
With a total duration of two minutes and fifty four seconds, the clip shows Ken Block performing some slides and drifts at Ford’s German facilities. Thanks to this video, everyone can now actually see and hear how the large bore exhaust layout on the vehicle sounds. As reported previously, the large bore exhaust layout is designed such that it provides the car with a high performance. The exhaust system also features an electronically controlled valve. This is the first time ever for the American automaker to feature such a technology on its vehicle.
Just as a kind reminder, especially for those who happen to miss the previous report on the new Ford Focus RS AWD, the vehicle is coming with an enhanced version of the company’s 2.3L 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine. This engine is derived from the one used on the Mustang. The American automaker in charge of building the new Focus claims that the engine should have no problems whatsoever in spitting out a peak power output of 315 bhp. As for the gearbox, the American company is giving its new vehicle model a 6-speed manual transmission system. Well, this may sound disappointing for some loyal fans of Ford that are fond of using an automatic transmission. Yet again, what is the use of a high performance vehicle without a manual transmission, right?
