1 dead, 6 injured after pickup truck flips in Brock Township

One person is dead and six others were flown to Toronto trauma centers after a pickup truck lost control and flipped in Brock Township, Ontario.

The crash took place around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday on Side Road 18, between Highway 7 and Concession Road 10.

According to Durham police, a grey 2006 Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck was traveling on Sideline Road 18 when it lost control, left the roadway, and then rolled into a ditch.

There were seven teenagers inside in the car when it crashed.

Four of the occupants were taken out of the car during the rollover.

Police said the remaining three occupants, all ages 15 to 17, were admitted to local hospitals and later air-lifted to Toronto trauma centers. 

A 15-year old was pronounced dead.

Two are currently in critical condition, the other four are going through the serious but stable condition.

The area of the roadway was closed for some hours as the investigation continued into the crash.

It is yet to be known that what caused the crash.
