One man died and seven others suffered injuries after a car plowed into a crowd at a mud racing event in Texas on Sunday night.
The dead individual was identified as a 21-year-old male, named Willie Valadez Ramirez. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
Two of the victims remain in critical but stable condition. The other five sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash took place in Fabens, Texas, about 40 miles southeast of El Paso and less than one mile from the Mexican border.
Officials haven’t released any further details on the incident, including the identities of the injured victims.
