Can you imagine a car being sold for around $ 50 million? Well it may be difficult to imagine but recently one of the Ferrari cars have been sold at this astounding amount.

A 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO racer has become the most expensive car ever sold in the history of car markets after it was acquired for a mind boggling amount of $ 52 million. The detail of who has bought this 250 GTO has not been revealed as it was bought in private by an unidentified buyer last month from collector Paul Pappalardo.

The model carries chassis number 5111 and it had won the 1963 Tour de France road race under the expertise of French driver Jean Guichet.

The previous record for the costliest vehicle sold also belonged to Ferrari model which was a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO driven by Sir Stirling Moss which was sold for a paltry sum of $ 35 million in 2012. It clearly indicates that Ferrari 250 GTO is the most valuable production car in history with two cars combined sold at $ 87 million.

It’s pretty obvious that it is not very far when we would come to know that the first $100 million car is also bought.
