2 dead after SUV runs red light and crashes in San Antonio

Two people died following a sport utility vehicle crash with a car in San Antonio, Texas on Monday morning.

The crash took place just before 5 a.m. on South Zarzamora Street.

Two women were in a sedan that was turning from Highway 16 onto South Zarzamora Street. At that time a sport utility vehicle ran a red light and t-boned the car. This sent it into a ditch.

Both in the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV fled from the scene, but officers arrested her when she was walking down the highway. She had small injuries but was admitted to an area hospital for a blood draw.

San Antonio police are investigating the crash. Names of the involved haven’t been released as of yet.
