Two men died and a two and four-year-old were flown to the hospital following a car crash in south Oroville, California.
One child was flown to Oroville Hospital, while the other was admitted to UC Davis Medical Center, according to Oroville CHP Officer, Ben Draper. He said that two children are facing “life-changing” injuries.
The single-vehicle took place happened Thursday early afternoon on Lincoln Blvd. at Baggett-Marysville Rd, CAL FIRE public information officer, Rick Carhart said.
Draper said there was a possible street race involving a black Jeep Cherokee and red Chevy Camaro. Draper said the Jeep Cherokee struck into a power pole at its base, causing the pole to snap. The two children were taken out of the car after it struck the power pole.
At this time, power is still off in the area, officials are working to get it repaired.
There could be more victims but officials are not sure at this moment.
Officials have urged people to avoid the area for the time being.
