2010 Shelby GT500 “Code Red” by Shelby Auto and Nelson Racing

by Alex

Two firms – Shelby Auto and Nelson Racing Engines have joined together and in collaboration produced this dream car named the GT500 Code Red. And this is for sale. The image one sees is of the 1000+ rwhp Shelby GT500 and not to be mistaken for any other type of GT500 that one gets to see in the typical road traffic scene.

The original engine of the GT500 that is the 5.4 liter V8 has been overhauled by using Twin 61mm Turbonetics turbochargers and an electronic boost controller which has been mated to a 6-Speed Tranzilla gearbox. In order for the vehicle to operate on pump fuel and a race gas mix, a twin fuel system has been added to the system. For stopping the car after it has taken off there are front brakes from Shelby/Baer along with 14″ cross-drilled and vented rotors and 6-piston calipers.

The two firms of Shelby and Nelson did not also let the car off with its original looks which itself could be summed up with the word awesome. They also added an exterior package which included a lot many number of modifications. A carbon fiber front splitter and side rockers, Shelby Code Red rocker side stripes, a vented custom Shelby hood, and 20″ Shelby Super Snake Alcoa wheels makes up the exterior package of the car. A twin fuel pressure, boost, water, oil temp and oil pressure gauges, but more importantly, Mastercraft 6-point competition harnesses and a Shelby-designed, welded-in 10-point roll cage are the other internal changes that the duo firm has included in their package.

The entire deal works out to $150,000 which is indeed big money for the muscle that one would get.
