2011 BMW Alpina B5 Biturbo Touring launched at 2011 Geneva Motor Show

The 2011 edition of the Geneva Motor Show event witnessed the debut of the 2011 BMW Alpina B5 Biturbo Touring car. The engine that is installed on this station wagon is a twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 unit which delivers 507 hp and 700 Nm. For transmission the engine is mated to an eight speed ZF automatic gearbox. Acceleration and top speed figures for the car is 4.7 seconds for the 0 to 62 mph dash and an equally impressive 191 mph or 307.5 km/h respectively.

There is the other variant of the car which is a bit sedate in that it is capable of reaching the three figure speed mark from rest in 4.8 seconds and has a slightly lower top speed of 187 mph or 301 kmph. This one is called the ‘family man’ version. ALPINA has been the car make that have for times till now held the place as a car that mixes athleticism, comfort and every-day luxury altogether. The BMW ALPINA B5 Bi-Turbo is going to be the perfect replacement for that.

There have been five different generations of 5 Series-based ALPINA automobiles that the company has come up with in the last 35 years. This sixth generation car is built on all the best qualities of the previous generation cars so as to come up with, what can be described as the best possible ALPINA to date.
