The new monochromatic variant is a wonderful addition to the new Discovery 4 series. It brings in a new and fresh sense of fashion to the series. The white and black variants both come with high-end interiors and a good blend of both the colors giving the car a very elegant look. The Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern says that this new Landmark edition has been created to offer the customers more choice. He feels that in spite of the Discovery 4 being the ultimate all purpose vehicle, it could still do with a new bolder and contemporary sense of design with a more luxurious cabin.
The Landmark differs from its counterparts in Discovery 4 series only in design. It is available in two color schemes, the Santorini Black or the Fuji white. The interiors, Taurus interior leather in available either in Ebony or Ivory. It is available in Ivory for the first time. These interiors are offset with a contrasting top stitch to create a duo-tone look. These bold-color combinations are in line with the elegant black and white themes, thus offering a striking finish.
The exteriors are equally classy with Santorini Black or the Fuji white finish grille vanes, with gloss black 20” 5-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels, privacy glass and extended roof rails. All these put together create an impressive side profile for the Discovery 4 Landmark.
With regards to its technical specifications, the Landmark used Land Rover’s most efficient 3.0 Liter SDV6 twin turbo diesel engine. This engine offers a 9 percent improvement in its fuel consumption when compared to the 2.7 Liter engine. The carbon dioxide emissions, in the new engine have also reduced by ten percent as compared to the old engine, thus reaffirming the brand’s commitment to the environment.
Both the black and white variants of Landmark are equipped with the Land Rover’s award-winning Terrain Response TM system. This system is said to optimize the vehicle set up for almost all on-road and off-road situations. It has five different settings to enable driving on different terrains.
