It was in 2001 that Porsche could execute a re-entry into the Chinese market. And now, to celebrate the 10th year of this existence in that country, they have announced the launch of their special edition Porsche Turbo S. However, just 10 units of the car would be produced with each priced at 3,488,000 RMB, or about $540,000 at current exchange rates. Sales are slated to begin from June 2011.
The 911 Turbo S 10 Year Anniversary Edition would stand out with its Gold Bronze Metallic exterior paint job with contrasting accents in matte carbon while the 19 inch Sport Classic wheels are done up with a high gloss black finish. For improving its aerodynamic abilities, the car feature a Aerokit front spoiler, front lid, and black matte carbon fiber exterior mirrors. The upper and rear part of the spoiler can also be distinguished with the black matte carbon fiber that has been used. There would be a unique number placed on the right side wheel arch of each of the 10 car.
Porsche has also added class to the interior drawing from its motorsport heritage. There is a combination of black leather with carbon insertions and Alcantara that has been used as well as black instrument dials with a golden insertions.
Also, celebration just doesn’t end with the launch of the Turbo S 10 Year Anniversary model as Porsche also plans to open up three new Porsche Centers in Taizhou, Zhengzhou, Haikou, and Chengdu Airport, as well as hosting a number of other events across the country, to mark their ten years in the Chinese Kingdom.
