2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S packs 530 horsepower, debuts in Geneva

by Ionut Dragomir

Porsche just recently introduced the 911(997,5) Turbo with 500 horsepower. Here we have details about the Turbo S version that packs an impressive 530 horsepower(30 hp more than the regular 911 Turbo) and makes its public debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show.

Power comes from the same twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat six that is modified for the additional 30 hp. Maximum torque is an impressive 700 Newton-metres (516 lb-ft).

New 911 Turbo S is the most efficient sports car in its performance class. Average fuel consumption is just 11.4 litres/100 kilometres (24.8 mpg).

Power is sent to Porsche’s Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system via seven-speed double-clutch gearbox. 911 Turbo S accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds. Top speed is 315 km/h (195 mph).

Back to zero is guaranteed with the help of extra-light and fading-resistant Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes.

Prices in Europe start from 145,400 euros for the coupe and 154,900 euros for the Cabriolet. First cars will hit dealerships already in May.
