One of the reporters from automotive site recently performed a speed test with the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S and the results were nothing less than outstanding.
Christian Gebhardt from sportauto.de had last time got behind the wheel of a pre-production car, but this time he got an opportunity of driving a production-spec model. In his test the model managed to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) sprint in mere 3 seconds which is 0.1s faster than the official time as provided by Porsche. The 0-124 mph (0-200 kmph) sprint took just 10 seconds and also the model managed to hit a top speed of 206.9 mph (333 kmph) as shown on the speedometer.
These impressive figures could be achieved mainly due to a 3.8-liter, 6-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 560 HP (412 kW) transferred to the ground with help from a dual-clutch, seven-speed PDK. Christian proved that Porsche was pretty modest in terms of top speed as the official maximum speed as mentioned by the company was at 198 mph (318 kmph).
The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S has been offered for sale since last month and comes with a starting price of 195,256 EUR (VAT included) in Germany.
