The 2011 Corolla has made its official debut today at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The so-called best selling subcompact car in America now brings new exterior designs made on the front bumper, radiator grille, front lower grille, headlamps, trunk lid, rear license garnish rear combination lamp, rear bumper and reflex reflector. Also the side mirrors are now bigger for better visibility, and as an option you can get a heating system for them. On the inside the car greats the driver with new seat color and pattern and a new steering wheel (available on the Corolla S).
This model of the Corolla now offers a better driving position and a multi-information display capable to present a variety of information such as outside temperature, instant fuel economy, average fuel economy, average speed and travel distance. Under the hood we see the standard 1.8 l engine that is capable of delivering 132 BHP and 128 lb/ft torque. The car receives in standard a five speed manual gearbox but a four speed automatic is also available as an option. With the five speed manual gearbox, the car gets a fuel economy of 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. With the four speed automatic, it manages to do 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.
As standard the manufacturer will offer: Toyota’s Star Safety System standard, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, but also Smart Stop Technology brake-override system.
