Volkswagen officially announced the debut of their all new 2011 Tiguan model to be displayed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show scheduled to be held on 01 March. The model is being released earlier than its scheduled date due to the fact that the old model has been sold out. The new model, a Trend & Fun version comes with a 1.4 TSI engine that delivers 90 Kw or 122 PS and at a price of 24,175 euro. The upgraded model therefore comes at the same price as the old one.
The design of the 2011 Tiguan is in line with the 2011 Passat model or the 2011 Jetta and the 2011 Touareg. There would be new set of headlights with integrated daytime running LEDs as well as a new front grille and redesigned tail lights as is the case for the other model mentioned.
The official press release had this to reveal of the car: “With five stars in EuroNCAP crash testing, the Tiguan is one of the safest SUVs, and with its TDI and TSI engines it is also one of the most fuel efficient SUVs; it offers great comfort and quality as well. So, its overall price-to-performance ratio sets a new benchmark, as confirmed by numerous comparison tests in the automotive media.”
