Two years back Audi had made an announcement disclosing its new facelifted version of the luxury vehicle. After two years of the event, Audi has planned the unveiling of its new generation A6 luxury sedan. This decision from Audi will not come as a surprise if you have been following the automotive industry closely. The experts and analysts in the automobile industry firmly believe that the new Audi A6 shall make its world debut at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Notably, the Audi A6 can be expected to hit the showrooms and be available for test drive in United States by late 2011.
It is believed that the new A6 sedan is likely to adopt a new design that has not yet been seen on the earlier A6 models. The new A7 Sportsback seems to have influenced the design choice for the new A6 model. Built on a conventional steel chassis, the new 2000 Audi A6 will be designed to match A7’s design. The new luxury sedan makes use of several aluminum components in order to keep the overall weight of the car at the lowest. However, the traditional steel coil springs will continue to be used in the standard suspension. Moreover, an optional air suspension is also likely to be available.
There are some under the hood changes that are also being introduced. These changes include a completely revamped powertrain lineup. This powertrain lineup is likely to consist of all forced induction engines. The base engine of the vehicle would be a 2.0 L V8 engine. The top version of the sports club is believed to be getting turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. The luxury sports vehicle shall include a list of standard options such a touchpad entry navigation system, lane keeping assist, active cruise control, live Google, and autonomous emergency braking. Notably, the active cruise control will also have follow-to-stop feature.
