We already saw the 2012 Fiat Panda revealed in patent drawings, but we can see something different. The newest model from Fiat was caught during some hot weather testing and here are the first spy shots of this new, redesigned model.
The spied prototype features a streamlined appearance with a wider grille, a rounded hood and sweptback headlights. They also have a larger air intake, a sloping roofline and a minimalist interior. The Panda will be marginally longer than the current Panda but will stay well clear of the four meter mark. Except all these, other details are very hard to spotted because the testing model is dressed in a lot of camouflage.
For now engine options remain a unknown, but will probably adopt under the hood the current 1.2-liter petrol engine is expected making 69hp and the 1.3-liter diesel generating 75hp will be its partner.
Beside this there is also a rumor of the highly efficient 900cc twin-air petrol engine in naturally aspirated and turbocharged formats. We are likely to see the 4×4 variant along with alternate fuels like LPG and CNG offered on international markets by the end of 2012.
The 2012 Fiat Panda is scheduled to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for official information.
