The French carmaker released a teaser image and video to prepare us about the concept for a futuristic looking supercar, 2012 Peugeout Onyx Hybrid which will be showcased at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The last time we heard about Onyx from the makers at Peugeout,we got a glimpse of the Peugeot Onyx which was known as the RCZ Onyx and looked like a mix between an Audi TT and a Nissan 370Z. Now Peugeot is planning an all-new direction for the Onyx name in the form of the Onyx Hybrid, as rumors have dubbed it.
Well no official details about the car are out but it is definately believed that the Onyx will boast a hybrid drivetrain combining a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine tweaked to deliver around 250 horsepower with an electric motor for a total system output of about 400hp. Well as per sources they say that from a car that looks to weigh no more than 2,500 lbs, rumors also suggest that the Onyx will get an impressive 39.2 mpg.
Now only only the Makers can pacify our soul whether this indeed is the correct figure of the car! Anyhow we will have to wait right up till this month end to verify if the figure we are thinking of is correct or not, at The 2012 Paris Motor Show. As of now click through the pics and stay tuned in for more updates.
