2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Is Almost Ready For Debut: Spy Shots

by Ionut Dragomir

The Frankfurt Motor Show is almost open and while we are waiting the grand reveal of the Porsche 911/991, spy photographers are pretty busy snapping even more shots of the much-anticipated sports car.

The latest spy shots reveal what looks to the Carrera or the Carrera S, possibly in final production trim as the car was fitted with the white protective strips we normally find on vehicles that are to be transported.

As expected, the Porsche 911/991 Coupe will take its design cues from the Panamera and the 918 Spyder concept, featuring larger front wing pontoons, all-LED headlights, slightly deeper side sills, door-mounted wing mirrors, and a more significantly sculpted rear end.

The new cars will be powered from a new 3.4-liter boxer with 350HP for the Carrera and an updated 3.8-liter flat-six with around 400-horsepower for the sportier Carrera S. Also, thanks to brake regeneration and stop start systems, the new Porsche will get a reduction in fuel consumption of 12%-15%.

Prices: will probably be slightly bigger comparing with the current models prices, which are around $80,000
Specs: the 2012 Porsche 911 will make its first public outing at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month
