2012 Porsche 911 Caught Undisguised: Spy Shots

Spy photographers from Auto Motor Und Sport managed to take some shots with the new 911 almost completely undisguised, but a few decals covering the details. In these latest shots show we can see the car almost completely undisguised, and for the first time in much vivid colors: yellow and blue. At a glance, the new 911 seems to be just as its predecessors have been, a variation on the classic theme, with some modern tweaks.

The folks from Porsche have worked to mask the headlights, tail lights and front fascia, leaving the rest of the car uncovered. With the company releasing a detailed teaser videoof the vehicle and a few production stills of its own, there seems to be little motivation behind covering up the car’s flanks.

Dürheimer, speaking of the new car, said ”it will be even more competent, even sexier, even more unique. The design can of course only be evolutionary, but beneath the skin, almost anything is possible.”

Some rumors says that power in the base Carrera will stand at 345 horsepower from a 3.4-liter boxer engine, downsized 200 ccs from the current engine. Step up to the Carrera S, however, and you’re expected to get a bigger 3.8-liter engine and 395 horsepower.

The 2012 Porsche 911 will debut at September’s 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, so we don’t have too long.
