Despite the fact that most car manufacturers would sit down for a while after a succes like the 2012 Bentley Continental GT, the British luxury automaker looked at this beauty and decided to improve everything and you can see the result here because the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed has been spotted totally cammo free before its debut in Frankfurt next month.
It’s hard to recognise the 2013 Continental GT Speed from this photos, but, if you’re paying enough attention, you’ll see the pinched tailpipes and the deeper, three-section lower front fascia, which are giving away this car’s secret identity.
Considering that the previous Speeds featured upsized, thin-spoke wheels, which owners often swapped out for aftermarket pieces, don’t expect to see these five-spoke 20-inchers, which are the base wheel on the standard Continental GT, to be the production footwear.
Keep in mind that the previous GT Speed had 9% more power and 15% more torque than the base GT Continental. This time, if similar formula is applied to the 2012 Continental GT’s higher-output W-12, with its 567 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, the Speed will pack around 621 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, which coincidentally is the same output as the 2010–2011 Continental Supersports. Also, in addition to this massive power, expect Bentley to take off some of the weight. This weight saving will build on the base GT Continental savings of 143 pounds. These two will combine to propel the GT Speed to 60 mph in the 3.8-3.9 second range.
Price: expect about a 10 % increase in price over the 2012 Continental GT’s $192,495
Specs: the Speed goes on sale sometime next year as a 2013 model
