Ford revealed the specifications and details of its 2013 Ford Kuga. Better known as Ford Escape in the North America, this one from Ford, is tailor-made for the European market and packs a bunch of advanced technology features to appeal to the sophisticated customers in the green continent. Interestingly, since its launch in 2008, the Kuga has always been a best seller for Ford, with over 45,000 units sold in UK.
Some of the main features about the Ford Kuga is that, it includes intelligent AWD system, along with exclusive Curve Control, and the segment first hands-free tailgate that operates with a gentle kicking motion. It also features a wide range of efficient EcoBoost engines and Ford’s famous SYNC infotainment with Emergency Assist system which automatically sets up an emergency call and provides GPS co-ordinates, in the local language where the car is being driven – using the onboard GPS and paired phones – the moment, it detects airbag deployment or activation of the emergency fuel shut-off.
Under the hood of the Kuga, it houses the 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine producing 150PS and a front-wheel drive, it achieves from 42.8mpg and 154g/km CO2. It also features a 2.0-litre TDCi Duratorq diesel engine, with 140PS in FWD and AWD versions offering from 53.3mpg and 139g/km CO2, and also a 163PS version that achieves from 47.9mpg and 154g/km CO2.
As in terms of safety, Ford Kuga comes with the latest safety technologies and features, including Active Park Assist, Blind Spot Information System, Active City Stop, Lane Keeping Aid, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam, Driver Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition.
