2013 Opel Insignia OPC facelift revealed ahead of IAA launch

Opel has officially taken the wraps off the facelifted Insignia OPC just ahead of the car’s public debut at Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in the coming month. It will be showcased together with the regular model and the newly introduced Insignia Country Tourer.

In spite of reports of increase in output in the facelifted model, it has remained the same at 325 HP (239 kW) and 435 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque by the V6 2.8-liter turbo engine which is sent to an all-wheel drive system featuring Haldex coupling and an electronic limited slip differential.

The engine is further mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, and can accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 6 seconds as compared to Tourer which is 0.3s slower. It comes with an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 kmph). However the company also claims that the unrestricted Insignia is capable of hitting a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h).

In terms of interiors, the cabin has received a new steering wheel with shift levers for the automatic model, Recaro seats and an eight-inch instrument readout display providing all vital details the driver needs.
