Recently XCAR took the Rage Comet R for a test drive both on- and off-road to check its versatility as claimed by the producer.
The Comet R may not among the best in terms of looks but its main purpose is to go fast on all types of roads rather than winning awards for its designing. Power is generated by Kawasaki ZZR1400-sourced engine that produces 200 hp (149 kW) sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed gearbox featuring a sequential gear shifter installed to the side of the steering wheel. The hardware setup enables the vehicle to hit 60 mph (96 kmph) in just 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of more than 120 mph (193 kmph).
The vehicle has a weight of 475 kg (1,047 lbs) and in terms of dimensions, the Comet R is 2600mm long, 1820mm wide and 1350mm tall. As standard, the Rage Comet R is road-legal and can be converted to off-road motocross in no time using an optional kit that includes different alloy wheels, off-road tires and longer shock absorber springs.
The Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour Concept follows quite a similar philosophy but wrapped around in an entirely different and larger package powered by a Gallardo-sourced V10 5.2-liter engine.
