The Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand’s flagship performance machine returns with more power and performance, superior craftsmanship and new technologies. Enhancing the comfort levels of the two new models which include SRT Viper and SRT Viper GTS!
They say that the All-aluminum, mid-front 8.4-liter V-10 engine delivers 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque which is the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world with Triple-digit weight reduction. Whoaaaah!
Manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2013 SRT Viper model is $97,395 (excluding $1,995 destination charges). MSRP for the 2013 SRT Viper GTS model is expected to be $120,395 (excluding $1,995 destination charges)
The SRT Viper GTS builds on the DNA of the SRT Viper model with more technologically advanced solutions, such as two-mode active suspension to allow this world-class GTS to find new capabilities on the track while also opening up its envelopes as a more premium and mature evolution of the classic, extreme performance formula.
Both SRT Viper and SRT Viper GTS models offer new interior and exterior designs which incorporate premium materials. New exterior surfaces with aerodynamically functional details are beautifully integrated into the high-tech carbon fiber and aluminum skin, which helps produce a triple-digit weight reduction and a Viper best power-to-weight ratio. The GTS has a four-mode system which includes: (1) full-on (2) sport (3) track and (4) full-off which offer different driving experiences as required.
Other features-
The base Viper is a no-frills, no-nonsense car tailored more for traditional Viper clientele. Manual, cloth-trimmed seats are standard, though leather-trimmed manual buckets are optional. Floor mats aren’t standard equipment, but are available at no extra cost. An optional touring package adds goodies such as a cupholder insert for the center console, a rear backup camera, and an upgraded touchscreen audio system that provides navigation and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
2013 Viper GTS models gain additional NVH (Noise, Vibration, Hardness) insulation, a 12-speaker audio system in lieu of the base 9-speaker system, power bucket seats, and Nappa leather applied to virtually every interior surface. GTS models also gain two-mode adjustable Bilstein Suspension dampers, along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) programming with four modes as mentioned previously. Also the sport mode raises the threshold of system intervention, while track keeps control limits intact but fully turns off the traction control.
Buyers can further dress up their GTS interiors with an optional premium interior package, which adds an Alcantara headliner, “SRT Laguna Premium” leather trim and seating surfaces, and unique interior trim finishes.
Three optional packages are available on both the 2013 SRT Viper and the 2013 Viper GTS. The carbon fiber interior package adds interior trim crafted from the composite material, while the matching carbon fiber exterior package applies carbon fiber to the front and rear brake ducts, rear diffuser, and – on the GTS – rear fascia applique. An SRT track package adds slotted, lightweight two-piece brake rotors, ultra-lightweight track wheels, and sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa soft compound rubber.
Production of the iconic supercar will begin at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant from November 2012 in Detroit which has been the home of the Viper since 1995. Dealer orders are expected to begin in mid-November 2012.
The SRT lineup in the 2013 model year features five vehicles that are world-class performance contenders and bring the latest in safety, technology and comfort.
