Alfa Romeo has recently revealed full details about the 2014 4C, just ahead of its European launch next month.
Aimed at driving purists, the entry-level Essential model comes equipped with features such as a digital instrument cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and fabric seats. The car also comes with grey brake calipers, a dual exhaust system and 17- / 18-inch alloy wheels.
Well that’s enough, the Racing Pack adds a sport steering wheel (with leather and microfiber inserts), a sportier exhaust system, a race-tuned suspension, 18- and 19-inch wheels covered with AR Racing tires. There is another Luxury Pack which has leather and microfiber sports seats and Bi-LED headlights with carbon fiber surrounds.
Under the hood, power is provided by a turbocharged 1.75-liter four-cylinder engine that would generate 240 HP (177 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. It is well connected to a dual-clutch transmission that enables the sports car to achieve the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds and comes with a top speed of 258 kmph (160 mph). Talking about fuel efficiency, the car would return average 6.8 L/100km (34.5 mpg US / 41.5 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 157 g/km.
Alfa Romeo will build 3,500 units annually out of which only 1,000 have been earmarked for Europe.
