BMW has recently announced the pricing of the i3 for U.K., Germany, U.S.
The model will come with a base price of 25,680 GBP (including 5,000 GBP government grant) once it goes on sale in October in UK. In Germany, it would start from 34,950 EUR and the deliveries will begin in November. The model will be sold starting Q2 2014 and would be priced at 41,350 USD (excluding 925 USD destination fee) before incentives in the U.S.
The car will be finally launched on 29th July simultaneously in cities like London, New York and Beijing, after a series of spy photos, rumors and teasers. The mentioned price tag refers to the full-electric model so the range-extending version will be more expensive.
The pure-electric i3 model has a rear-mounted 50 kg (110 lbs) electric motor generating 170 HP (125 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. It can touch the speed of 0-37 mph (0-60 kmph) in 3.7 seconds and takes 7.2 seconds to achieve the 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) sprint. The model also comes with electronically-limited top speed of 93 mph (150 kmph) and will offer a range between 81 to 99 miles (130 to 160 km) thanks to a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery.
