Following a recently released official teaser and an accidental leak, Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the 2014 S63 AMG.
Set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September, the new model comes with the typical AMG tweaks in terms of styling, such as the more aggressive bumpers, beefier side sills, larger 19-inch alloy wheels and a quad exhaust setup which all provide the car with a meaner look but it still looks more tamed than it should.
Under the hood, the power is provided by an updated Euro 6-compliant twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine that generates 585 hp (436 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. The engine works together with a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT sports transmission that offer three modes, “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual).
The model will be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 4.4 seconds for both SWB and LWB versions. The all-wheel drive 4MATIC long-wheelbase version is considerably faster than the other two, accomplishing the same sprint in just 4 seconds. However, all three models come with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 kmph).
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG will arrive in U.S. this November, while UK is expected to get it before the end of the year.
