Several new pictures of the 2014 Mercedes C-Class have leaked on the net recently ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show.
The 2014 C-Class comes with an evolutionary design which looks more upscale than its predecessor. Notable highlights of the model include a prominent grille, LED-infused headlights and carefully sculpted bodywork. We can also see a CLA-inspired rear end with a dual exhaust system and S-Class style taillights.
According to Auto55.be, which obtained the pictures, the C-Class will ride on a new platform that has a wheelbase which is 8cm longer than its predecessor. Despite being larger, the model will reportedly be lighter by 100 kg (220 lbs) thanks to aluminum body panels.
At launch, the C-Class will reportedly be offered with three different engines including:
A turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder mill with output of 157 HP (115 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque
A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 186 HP (136 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque
A 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with output of 170 HP (125 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.
