The 2014 Mercedes C-Class has been spied yet again but this time with less of camouflage on it.
The redesigned model looks larger and more refined than its predecessor and has a new front fascia with soft curves and large air intakes. The car also comes with a two-bar grille, a dual exhaust system and S-Class inspired taillights.
The 2014 C-Class is slated to ride on a new MRA platform that is lighter and longer than the previous one. This will result in a more accommodating cabin with additional rear seat legroom and a larger trunk that will hold approximately 500 liters (17.6 cubic feet) of luggage. Despite the increase in size, the sedan will reportedly weigh 70 kg (154 lbs) less than outgoing model.
Engine options that can be expected to include are:
• 2.2-liter CDI four-cylinder with outputs of 170 HP (125 kW), 204 HP (150 kW) and 231 HP (170 kW)
• 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 156 HP (114 kW)
• 2.0-liter four-cylinder with outputs of 184 HP (135 kW), 211 HP (155 kW) and 252 HP (185 kW)
• 3.0-liter V6 with 333 HP (245 kW)
The Mercedes C-Class is expected to be launched at the 2014 North American International Auto Show with sales starting shortly thereafter.
