2014 Porsche Panamera Diesel with 300 bhp revealed before IAA debut

Porsche has recently announced the more powerful 2014 Panamera Diesel facelift set for the debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Panamera Diesel will come fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 engine and it will produce 50 hp (37 kW) more than before, which takes the total output to 300 hp (224 kW) at 4,000 rpm. The figure for torque has also gone up by 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) to 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm.

As a result of the increase in output, the 2014 Porsche Panamera Diesel facelift will be able to achieve the 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) sprint in 6 seconds, which makes it 0.8s quicker than its predecessor. The facelifted model will also come with a revised top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h) as compared to 152 mph (244 km/h) earlier.

The engineers from Stuttgart have also reworked on the transmission to make the car more economical and this resulted in an NEDC fuel consumption of 6.4 liters / 100 km (36.7 mpg US or 44.1 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions at 169 g/km.

The facelifted 2014 Panamera Diesel will have a starting price of 85,300 EUR inclusive of VAT in Germany.
