Renault has recently released new details about the 2014 Clio Cup.
Based on the Clio R.S. 200 EDC, the model comes with an aerodynamic body kit with features such as aggressive front fascia, a roof-mounted scoop, tailgate-mounted spoiler, a rear diffuser, a dual exhaust system and 17-inch Speedline Corse wheels which can be wrapped with either Dunlop or Michelin tires.
The race-spec interior features a digital dashboard, a multi-function steering wheel and a Sabelt racing seat with a six-point harness and a HANS compatible headrest. There’s also a welded roll cage that is significantly stronger than bolt-in units.
Under the hood, the 2014 Clio Cup is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 220 HP (161 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission which can change gears in 100 milliseconds.
Other highlights include a Cosworth SQ7DI ECU, ZF Race Engineering adjustable shock absorbers and a high-performance braking system with Brembo calipers and ventilated front discs that measure 320mm.
The turn-key racer which is approved by FIA is expected to go on sale from this September and the pricing starts at € 37,800 (excluding VAT).
