by SpeedLux

Chevrolet has recently announced plans to offer the first 2015 Corvette Z06 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction that will be held in Palm Beach, Florida on April 12th.

The proceeds from the auction of the car will be donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute that will use the funds to improve their infusion center. The Institute hopes the improvements will provide a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive chemotherapy treatments.

In a statement, GM President Dan Ammann said that Chevrolet’s donation of the first 2015 Corvette Z06 produced is yet another way that they are showing their continued support of the Karmanos Cancer Institute. The statement further stated that funds raised from the auction will help the exceptional patient care that Karmanos is known for in their community and across the country.

As previously reported, the Corvette Z06 will go on sale early next year and come with an aerodynamic body kit as well as a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine with an output of at least 625 hp (466 kW) and 635 lb-ft (861 Nm) of torque.
