2015 Kia Borrego prototype spied in action on Nurburgring

by SpeedLux

Korean automaker Kia is in the process of finalizing the next generation Borrego that is set to hit the streets as a 2015 model.

Deriving its name from the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California, it manes “bighorned sheep”. However the name has not generated enough interest amongst consumers as of now. The first generation SUV was dropped from the US market due to poor sales, but that has not stopped the company from going for the second gen model. There are rumors and evidence that indicate Kia is looking to resurrect the model for the next generation model.

The Kia Borrego SUV also known as the Mohave in other markets was spied taking advantage of the mean tarmac of Nurburgring. Heavily disguised but it clearly appears that the designing has taken inspiration from the Forte and Cadenza.

Under the hood, the engine options are set to include 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder and 3.3-liter GDI V6 mills and there are rumors that also suggest a hybrid will form part of the line-up as well.

The Kia Borrego / Mohave is expected to debut next year 2014 and will probably commence sales in Korea before its launch in the all-important North American market.
