The five-door MINI hatchback has been spied on camera with little less camouflage, ahead of a possible 2015 launch.
In October we came to know from BMW board member Peter Schwarzenbauer that the new MINI lineup will encompass between eight and ten different models. One of the new models can be seen in these spy images which depict a five-door hatchback featuring a significantly longer wheelbase in order to better accommodate two rear passengers. The vehicle is also slightly taller than the regular Cooper and comes with a small window behind the C-pillar.
The standard MINI Cooper will be finally revealed in the coming week when we will also get an idea about what sort of engines will power this larger version. The three-door MINI will be offered with a 1.5-liter gasoline motor with output of 134 hp (100 kW) and a more powerful 2.0-liter rated at 189 hp (141 kW). There will also be a 1.5-liter direct-injection diesel common-rail engine outputting 114 hp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (269 Nm) of torque.
The five-door MINI will be revealed towards the end of next year 2014 as a 2015MY model.
Have a look at picture gallery, although, some are old.
