Recently the 2015 MINI five-door hatchback has been spied on camera and that too without any camouflage, ahead of an official launch scheduled to take place later this year.
In order to make room for the rear doors, MINI had to shorten the front ones and as could be seen in these spy images, the rear doors now look pretty small and so access to the backseat will not be ideal but should remain functional. Motoring File reports that rear legroom will be expanded by 5cm in comparison to the regular MINI and the backseat will have enough room so that it could carry three passengers.
The car that was spied is the hotter Cooper S going by the rear lettering, dual exhaust setup and the roof-mounted spoiler. Under the hood power would be generated by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo with an output of 189 hp (141 kW) and 206 lb-ft (221 lb-ft with overboost) of torque.
The five-door MINI will most likely be introduced this fall though the official confirmation is awaited. We can expect more details to be out soon in the coming time.
