The new generation BMW 5-series has been caught under lens for the first time in its lucrative sedan body style. We have already seen the wagon variant quite a few times earlier but this time we were lucky enough to get a chance to get hold of its sibling in the camera.
From the images it is pretty evident that BMW has adopted another evolutionary design approach to this upcoming model though it will not be correct to comment or conclude anything as of now regarding the same.
The biggest attraction of the model is the introduction of a three-cylinder turbodiesel engine. As per the reports, it will generate an output of around 150 HP (110 kW) and will also be able to return superb fuel economy figures of just 3.9 liters / 100 km (60 mpg US or 72 mpg UK). At the other end of the scale, the M5 is expected to exceed the output of 600 HP (441 kW) and will be the first M model to be offered with optional all-wheel drive.
The new platform that is under development currently will also be used on the next generation 6-series following its debut in 5-series.
